Eva - Lakehouse
Hello Cortes community,

The Lakehouse Learning Society is having an open house information session on Wednesday July 23rd from 10 to 11AM. The Lakehouse staff will provide an overview of our history, our democratic education philosophy, the various democratic educational programs we run, what a typical day looks like, Q&A, and tour the facilities. All family members are welcome! Please RSVP by emailing us so we can arrange appropriate seating.

Lakehouse Learning Society runs democratic education programs on Cortes Island. This is our fourth enrollment year. We are located in Manson’s Hall, into the newly renovated old library room. For this upcoming enrollment year, September 2014-May 2015, we will be offering two main programs. Our programs are now open for registrations and we have limited spots available so please make sure to contact us if you are interested.

Lakehouse Learning Center– open to ages 5 and up, Monday & Tuesday from 10AM-3PM
Lakehouse Youth Focus – open to ages 13 and up, Tuesday from 10AM-5PM & Wednesday from 10AM – 1PM

The heart of Lakehouse is to empower our children to develop their own sense of what is important to them, to determine what drives them, and to complete tasks they set out to do. Students at Lakehouse choose when they learn, how they learn, and what they learn. Staff facilitate and support each student’s enthusiasm-based learning.

If you are interested in learning more about our offerings, please come to the info session! Please RSVP at Also contact us if you would like more information on our programs and review the registration form.

We look forward to meeting you!
