Cortes Museum now open daily (except Mondays), 10 am to 4 pm.
New exhibits this summer: "When Wrangellia Came Wandering In"
– about the geology of Cortes Island; "Forest Fires on Cortes"
; "Endangered Ecosystems on Cortes"
; and "Cortes Species at Risk"
. Old favourite exhibits include "Pioneer Kitchen", "First Nations", and "Wild Cortes - Woods, Wetlands and Waters".
Come in for books, gifts and crafts in the Museum Shop. Stay awhile in the Comfy Corner to peruse albums of old photos.
INTRODUCING Shayla Sopracolle-Tate, the Museum's new hostess for the summer, who will welcome you and offer interpretation of exhibits.
Visitor information and maps are available from Shayla - and when the Museum is closed, tourist information is available on the Museum's covered porch.
