There has been a lot of talk, rumour, and frustration about what food vendors need to do in order to sell their products on Cortes Island and at the summer markets. Many locals count on these markets for a source of income during our busy tourist season. The Cortes Island Business and Tourism Association, (CIBATA), is organizing an educational meeting with Joseph Barrata, from VIHA, in regards to what it takes to be an approved food vendor on Cortes Island. We are hoping to have this meeting in early May and I would like to hear from anyone who may be interested in attending. The goal of this meeting is to educate all food vendors and market place holders, so that this source of income for many can continue.
