I heard today that Victoria Smith passed on April Fool's Day. A flood of memories came to me as I remembered Vicky in her glory. She was one of a kind and lived her life the way she wished it to be. At a time when my daughters were overwhelmed with math, she tutored them and filled in the gaps in their understanding with love and patience, enabling them to move on with their studies and to excel in something they could easily have felt insufficient in. She was the best teacher they had and I have always loved Vicky just for that. Add to that her dedication to getting Cortes Radio up and running, her wonderful alter egos displayed for all to enjoy at the Lip Synch benefits, her dedication to simple living, and her integrity, and you have someone who affected many with her life and was loved by this community.
Even at the end she maintained her independence, and did not show despair in the face of her oncoming death. I was able to speak with her a few weeks ago and once again tell her what an impact she had on my family. Bless you Vicky and Rave On!!
