Fairhaven Gardens Nursery opens this weekend!

Your Island Nursery:
Fairhaven Gardens Nursery opening for season Saturday April 5th 10am-4pm. Come explore Cortes Island’s own nursery, surrounded by beautiful gardens. We are open every Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm from leaf burst in April through leaf fall in October. Visit your island nursery for local knowledge, plants, and supplies.

We carry a full range of edible and ornamental plants including fruit trees, berries, roses, climbers, flowering and ornamental trees & shrubs, conifers and broadleaf evergreens, perennials, grasses, and a gardens worth of deer resistant plants.

Our spring stock is coming in this Friday, so visit us Saturday for a bit of chaos and a lot of bounty. In the nursery: lily and dahlia bulbs, David Austin Roses, fruit trees and berries, primulas, winter honeysuckle, and early flowering rhodos.

Our fruit trees, berries, and nuts include a variety of apples, plums, cherries, domestic and Asian pears, figs, persimmons, blueberries, lingonberries, loganberries, tayberries, boysenberries, marionberries, raspberries, junebearing and everbearing strawberries, black and red currants, green and red gooseberries, jostaberries, table and wine grapes, kiwis, and walnuts.

Ornamental trees include a variety of white and pink dogwoods, flowering cherries, magnolias, amelanchier, flowering plums, redbuds, Japanese maples, paper bark maples, witch hazels, contorted hazels, beeches, katsuras, mimosas, davidia, euonymus, Japanese snow bell, oak, stewartia, staghorn, and robinia.

Amendments and mulches:
Build healthy soil with organic amendments and mulches. We carry chicken manure, seasoil, local ocean soil, peat moss, potting mix, and straw. Mulch and feed your garden to keep it happy. Nature always mulches!
