Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society (FTCCIS) sponsored a logo contest in the summer of 2013 for the youth of Cortes Island. The logo contest was a joint venture between the Board of Directors and the FTCCIS Youth, with the Youth participating in the selection. There were seven creative submissions, all of them posted on our website, so please take a look at the young talent from Cortes.
The FTCCIS and Youth are now delighted to announce that the beautiful drawing you see in this post is the winning design. The original concept and submission came from Mira Braaten (age 19 years), with the final artistic sketch done by Shantima Braaten (age 16 years).
Forest t-shirts were offered to the participants who sent in logos, and a copy of the book, Forest Alphabet: Artistic Visions of a Forest in Trust to the Children, will be given to Mira, when it is hot off the press this spring! Stay tuned for an upcoming community book launch.
