The Cortes Museum provided a cozy setting for a recent Literary Afternoon on February 16th that included stories, poetry and music.
Local authors and writers read a variety of works to touch the inner soul. Yvonne Kipp explored love reading works by Gilean Douglas. Judy Hipkin recited her poem about friendship. Andy Vine read some of his poems. Linda LaClaire read her short stories. Holly-Anne Dobb wrapped up the afternoon with a story relating her relationship with her father then sang a song about the story, accompanying herself on guitar.
These popular Literary Afternoons are sponsored by the Seniors' Society with refreshments afterwards encouraging conversation and discussion. This Sunday not everyone stayed to enjoy refreshments as big wet snowflakes had begun to fall heavily, blowing sideways in the wind, and creating worries about the state of the roads home.
Despite the snow, it was another successful afternoon in this popular variety series of Literary Afternoons.
