COMING SOON! - "Manson's Landing" - 3rd in Cortes History Booklet series - great for Christmas gifting.
WINTER HOURS are in effect at the Cortes Museum - OPEN Friday & Saturday afternoons - noon to 4 p.m. Visit exhibits on Manson's Landing, Wild Cortes, First Nations & a Pioneer Kitchen. Make purchases in the Gift Shop offering books and local arts & crafts. Spend a rainy afternoon in the Comfy Corner looking through archival photos and stories from early settlers.
After a busy summer, winter at the Museum is NOT slow on activities: NATURAL HISTORY programs are happening at the school and in the Museum's Heritage Garden; the SENIORS' SOCIETY has been holding monthly meetings in the exhibit gallery; the THIRD BOOKLET in the Cortes History Series has gone to press - "Manson's Landing" will be available before Christmas; work has already begun on the FOURTH BOOKLET about Squirrel Cove; the ARCHIVES COMMITTEE has been busy preserving & cataloguing old photos from May Ellingsen & Gilean Douglas; the COLLECTIONS COMMITTEE will continue recording, photographing & cataloguing numerous artifact donations - now that there's room to properly store them!
