You don't need fancy equipment to shoot quality product photos of crafts and other objects to document for selling online or making a catalogue. In this workshop, Richard Trueman and Irene Blueth will give demos of the shooting set-up and the photo editing, using free software.
Even if you do not sell your art or craft, this workshop will teach you how to photograph your creations for an online portfolio or your own archives and future use.
There will be information about how to...
• Make your photos stand out over the competition
• Shoot with natural light using a point-and-shoot camera
• Include props in the photos
• Show accurate colour
• Exposure correct, crop and resize the images
• Overlay text on the image to make a banner for your site
If you like, bring along a couple of examples of your product and potential props to go with it. We may use them in the demo.
Bring your camera (and the manual). There won't be time for you to shoot photos, but you will learn how to adjust those mysterious settings. It can be a point-and-shoot, a DSLR or if need be, an iPad.
