The Seniors Society is sponsoring a 2 day workshop presented by Cari Taylor of the Arthritis Society of B.C. This workshop is recommended for those suffering from arthritis as well as their family and friends.
The workshop is Oct. 28-29, from 10:00-5:00 in Mansons Hall. The workshop is free, but we ask a
donation to cover the travel and lodging for Cari.
On the Oct. 28, Cari will give her presentation, "Understanding Arthritis", which will give everyone the necessary clear understanding of the disease, as well as show many of the available tools to make life more manageable.
On Oct. 29, any of the following presentations can be offered.

ARTHRITIS & STRESS
Arthritis can be a debilitating disease. Add the stresses of everyday life and it may become overwhelming. In this 2 hour interactive workshop, you will learn about the relationship between the two. By uncovering the many facets of stress and how it affects us, you will learn how to better manage your stress and your arthritis.
CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP .
The main objective of this workshop is to improve your understanding of the principles of pain management and its treatments, introduce different methods to cope with chronic pain, and show how to take an active role in your own pain management. Participants have the chance to learn new information and skills, that will complement conventional treatments and programs, discuss ideas and share experiences with others that have chronic pain such as arthritis. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Learn about the different types of arthritis to help you determine whether you have it or not. Understanding the importance of self management (pain management, medications, exercise and complementary therapies, etc.) and learn about the many tools and aids you can use to make life easier. This program is great for anyone who has or thinks they have arthritis and their family members. Everyone is welcome.
TIPS, TRICKS AND TOOLS - The Three T’s of Managing your Arthritis
This interactive workshop will show you the latest gadgets and tools to make daily tasks easier and more comfortable. Get some new tips on how to do activities and how to better manage your Arthritis. Share your own helpful suggestions. Remember - that if you are not busy managing your Arthritis – then it will be busy managing you!------------------------
