There will be a General Meeting of the Whaletown Community Club on Monday, Oct. 7th, 7.30 PM at the Gorge Hall. This the first General Meeting since the spring, and there are quite a few items to discuss - we have a lot of events coming up, including, but not limited to, Hallowe'en, the Day of the Dead, the Gorge Hall's 80th birthday party, a fall work bee, and various Christmas events. Volunteers and energy are needed to make it all happen, so please join us at the meeting and hear all about it. Everyone welcome!
It isn't too early to think about the Election of next years Board at the AGM in February. Several positions will be open. Executive positions - President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer-- require the candidates to have been WCC members in the previous year. This is not necessary for Committee positions - House and Grounds, Social Conveners, Health and welfare - or for members at large. Memberships cost $10 for an individual or $15 for a family, and give you a vote if you have a Whaletown postal code and reduced rental fees and other benefits wherever you live. Memberships can be purchased at the meeting and at other WCC events, or by mailing your fee to the WCC at Box 1o3, Whaletown.
The Club needs some young energy! What events would you like to make happen? This is your Club too.
Lets make this fall and winter season one of celebration, community spirit and fun. See you at the meeting!
