The Cortes Natural Food Co-op has recently been awarded a grant from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), which includes seed funding towards a “Needs & Demand Study” for a potential affordable housing project on Co-op Land.

The Co-op is able to offer a maximum $2,500 contract for 1 person to conduct the following tasks:

1/ Become familiar with the 2009 Cortes Housing Survey.

2/ Design new survey questions specifically related to the potential Co-op Housing project i.e. number of bedrooms, amenities, design features, etc.

3/ Identify persons who may be interested in affordable year-round housing options located in Manson’s Landing Village, collect their input and needs via survey and/or interview.

4/ Tabulate, analyze, summarize results of interviews and surveys into draft report. Including monthly meetings to update Co-op Land Committee members.

5/ Prepare final written report by December 15/2013.

The ideal candidate is familiar with Cortes Island housing needs, has experience designing survey questions, with good interview techniques, excellent report writing skills, plus access to computer, printer, e-mail, internet, and phone.
