On Wednesday, August 14th, the Cortes Museum is sponsoring its second-to-last Museum-sponsored, summer 2013 cruise aboard the MISTY ISLES.
En route to Cassel Lake in Teakerne Arm, MISTY ISLES will pass the spot where Captain George Vancouver anchored his ship DISCOVERY in 1792. After viewing Cassel Falls (often called Captain Vancouver’s “spa”) from aboard MISTY ISLES, participants will take a short hike to picturesque Cassel Lake on West Redonda Island. Along the short trail to this swimmable lake (don’t forget your swimsuit!), skipper/naturalist Mike Moore will point out artifacts from the logging days.
MISTY ISLES departs Squirrel Cove 10:30am on August 14th, & returns by 5:00pm. The fee for this adventure is $120 per person, including tax.
Following this August 14th trip to Cassel Lake, only one Museum-sponsored, summer 2013 trip remains! The final trip is a cruise to Desolation Sound on August 24th.
