Cortes Is. Business & Tourism
The Cortes Island Business and Tourism Association (CIBATA) was formed as a community group to drive economic and holistic community development for local businesses and to initiate activities that promote business and the island as a whole. Initially we came together to promote Cortes as a year round tourist destination that leaves a lasting positive impact on visitors and supports a vibrant local economy. We represent a wide variety of rental accommodations, eco-tourism providers, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, marinas, and other services that cater to visitors. Businesses involved in other industry sectors are also welcome. The success of this non-profit organization depends on diverse and active membership.

Our first priority has been to create a website that offers visitors a comprehensive listing of services and attractions available on our island. We're excited to invite you to have a look at

Our intention has been to list all island services in order to provide the most helpful resource to visitors. We have endeavoured to list as many businesses and related services as possible. There's a good chance your Cortes based business or organization has been included on the site; if you wish to submit a listing or make any changes to your existing listing, please follow the link to the form below. If you'd like to submit a photograph, please email directly to Jordan Bower, our web designer, at Be sure to clearly identify your name and the name of your business. If you have multiple businesses that should be listed, please submit the form for each one.

Every business will be listed, whether a member of CIBATA or not unless you choose to opt out. Member listings will display contact information and direct links, including phone number, website, and email address. Non-member listings will be included on the site without contact information. NB. All service and non-profit organizations will be listed complete with contact info and links.

Contact information and direct links for those businesses that have not become members by May 31 will be deleted at that time but their listings will remain. However, you can still choose to join at any time.

Our ambition for CIBATA is to act as an advocate for island businesses. Our executive and current members are committed to pursuing initiatives that increase the economic activity on the island for the benefit of all islanders. It would be our pleasure to welcome you to our organization.

Our annual membership fee is $25-50. Membership in Discovery Islands Chamber of Commerce is a prerequisite, as we are officially a committee of DICC. Please contact us for a membership application.

Our current executive includes Carol London (T'ai Li Lodge), Martha Abelson (Coast Realty Group (CR) Ltd. and Cortes Island Boathouse, Elizabeth Anderson (Juniper Bluffs B&B), Bill Dougan (Gorge Harbour Resort), Caz Ratcliffe (Sowelu), and Mike Moore (Misty Isles Adventures).
