Vanc. Island Regional Library
Vancouver Island Regional Library is pleased to report that the opening of a new branch on Cortes Island is one step closer to reality.
Earlier this month (April 2013), the Strathcona Regional District approved a by-law re-zoning the land on which the Linnaea School is located to allow a public library to operate at that location. A room in the school will be leased from the Linnaea Farm Society and operated as a library.
Library staff will now begin work on converting the room to a library branch that is appealing, comfortable, inviting and safe for the residents of Cortes Island. The Cortes Island branch will open once renovations are completed.
