Cortes Literacy Outreach
Six Weeks of Exploring...
Do you already love to write or want to learn the sweet, sweet art of expressing your ideas and what matters most to you? Or maybe keeping a journal is more your style?

Either way, come on out to this six-week course and choose your own adventure in the creativity of the written word! Each cohort will have three weeks with Linda to discover creative writing and three weeks with Stephen to make your own zines!

Creative Writing: A wide variety of inspirational prompts will be offered sparking creative new ideas and possibilities. Editing assistance of your final pieces will be available, but not mandatory.

Zine Making: Create your very own zine as a fun and provocative way to share ideas and get information across in an interesting way to your reader!

You’ll have the opportunity to keep all your work private or share it, as you prefer.

Ages: Cohort 1 10 - 13
Cohort 2 14 - 16
When: Wednesdays: March 13, 20; April 10, 17, 24; and May 1 (skips Spring Break)
Where: Cortes School, Seniors' classroom
Time: 3 - 4:15 pm
Cost: Free!
Snacks: Provided!

Zine Making will be with Stephen McRorie
Bring: Bringing your journal for your treasured writings and your favourite writing tools is encouraged.
Please also bring a pair of scissors and some coloured pens or pencils if you have any. Thanks!
