I want to express my deep gratitude and admiration to Ester Strijbos, Ayami Stryck, Donna Naven, Beth Napper and Don Ross for the wonderful Demonstration/workshop event they put together yesterday on the grounds of the Old SchoolHouse Gallery.

Close to 100 people attended this hands-on experience, children and adults, locals and visitors, everybody enjoying themselves with family and friends and in a beautiful environment. An authentic portrayal of what community is all about.

On the same token, I also want to thank Kathleen Horne for her demonstration on Touch Drawing that she gave on August 12th. We also had so much fun that evening, learning and trying this so interesting technique.

As a quick reminder, this weekend is the last opportunity to enjoy the Elements of Nature exhibit where you can see the amazing works of Ester, Ayami, Beth, Donna and Don. If you haven't seen it, you are missing something really special. The gallery is open Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 9 PM.

No doubt about it, Cortes Island is very lucky on having so many vibrant, active, diverse and super-talented artists, as well as such a fantastic supporting community.
