The Cortes Natural Food Co-op is preparing to purchase the 2.8 acre property at 800 Sutil Point Road, current home of the Co-op store and bakery, Marnie's books, Monkey Wrench Bikes, and more. This Sunday, the Co-op's Land Committee is hosting a visioning session to find out what co-op members and other islanders would like to see happen on the land.

Got a brilliant idea that should be included in the future plans for the property, a practical suggestion for land management, or a creative strategy for how to help the co-op fund the land purchase? Now's the time to bring your vision forward!

Come share your ideas, dreams, and suggestions for the future of this unique community asset.

The afternoon event will start with a brief update from the Co-op's Land Committee on the purchase process and some ecological septic options, followed by a walk around the property.

Refreshments and bakery items will be available at the co-op cafe space, where we will gather for a facilitated brainstorming session on ideas for the land after the walk.

Once the ideas are all on the table (or, more likely, the walls), you will have a chance to mark which ones you support most, giving the Land Committee and the co-op board an important direction for which land-related projects to focus on.

Dress warmly enough for a short walk around the property (and bring a rain coat).

Starts at 1:00 pm this Sunday, October 28th.
