Lynne Jordan: Cortes Museum
BIG BUNCHES OF ROSES each to thank some very special people:
HANNAH PETKAU for going way above & beyond her summer hosting duties at the Cortes Museum. The 4 large murals Hannah
painted created perfect backdrops for exhibits about "Wild Cortes: Woods, Wetlands & Waters". Kudos for taking on such a large project with time constraints.
DOLLY WATSON for generously stitching edges and hems on the 4 canvas murals prior to painting, and for loaning her special needles when we needed to add a piece of canvas to create a sloping sandy beach at the bottom of one mural.
TOM BOHART for creating the finishing touches by making & mounting wood frames for 3 of the large murals.
DALE HENDERSON for giving back to the community & enthusiastically joining the Museum's Board as Treasurer & learning a whole new bookkeeping system -- not necessarily an easy thing for a bank manager, as you might have thought! Dale's stay in the Cortes community was all too short.
The Museum is now closed for renovations until the spring when "Wild Cortes" will be on exhibit again. A new summer exhibit will celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Manson's Landing. Watch for some exciting events to mark this special summer, 2013.
