Your Island Nursery:
Come explore Cortes Island’s own nursery, surrounded by beautiful ornamental and food gardens. We are open every Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm from leaf burst in April through leaf fall in October. Visit us for local knowledge, plants, and supplies.
We carry a full range of edible and ornamental plants including fruit trees, berries, roses, climbers, flowering and ornamental trees & shrubs, conifers, broadleaf evergreens, perennials, grasses, and deer resistant plants. Whatever your garden's need, we will have the plant for you.
In the nursery and garden:
Visit us throughout the season to see what is in bloom, berry and leaf. Fairhaven’s gardens showcase a lush array of established plants for seasonal interest. The garden is full of surprises even in the hottest or coldest of seasons. Keep your garden beautiful year round with blooms, berries, colourful leaves and interesting form.
Fruit and berries:
Our fruit trees, berries, and nuts include a variety of apples, domestic and Japanese plums, cherries, domestic and Asian pears, figs, persimmon, pawpaw, blueberries, cranberries, loganberries, tayberries, boysenberries, raspberries, goji berries, serviceberries, junebearing and everbearing strawberries, black and red currants, green and red gooseberries, table and wine grapes, kiwis, and walnuts.
Ornamental trees:
We carry a variety of dogwoods, flowering cherries, magnolias, amelanchier (service berry), redbuds, tree lilac, hawthorns, robinias, Japanese maples, red maples, copper beech, katsuras, mimosas, davidia, euonymus (spindle tree), Japanese snow bell, laburnum, oak, staghorn and a number of conifers.
Soil conditioners and mulches:
Build healthy soil with organic conditioners, amendments, and mulches. We carry chicken manure, sea soil, mushroom manure, blended manure, steer manure, ocean soil, peat moss, potting mixes, straw, organic fertilizer mixes, limes, and deer repellent spray. Mulch and feed your garden to keep it happy. Nature always mulches!
