Last year's garden tour was a big hit. The sun shone, birds sang, and everyone was smiling as they roamed through 14 unique Cortesian gardens.

There were 113 tickets sold, many to off-island visitors.

"There were more off-island visitors this year than any other year. People really enjoyed the wide variety of garden styles," said Lynne Jordan, President of Cortes Island Museum and Archives Society (CIMAS)."

All profits from the garden tour go to support CIMAS.

A bouquet of appreciation goes out to the 14 gardeners who opened their gates and generously welcomed visitors to tour their gardens. Their kind-hearted willingness to invite people into their lovely gardens is greatly appreciated and helps to further establish our beautiful island as a garden paradise.

This year’s gardeners were:

Lorna Brown (who also did a great job producing the tickets); Doreen Thompson; The Old School House Gallery / Janet&Lynn; Callie Waddell; Marlene & Michael Hoskins; Linnaea Farm; Stephanie Milne and hubby Michael; Cortes Museum/Donna McLaren; Hollyhock/Nori Fletcher; Maple Tree Reserve/Alex & Heidi; Chamadaska Gardens / Norm&Denise; Claudia Raaen/Sacred Space Studio; Lucretia Schanfarber& Lee Gass.

Happy gardening,

Lucretia Schanfarber
