Betty-Ann Hansen, Brian, Finn and Alec Page want to send out our eternal thanks to everyone who donated their time and amazingly generous support to help us to go to London to watch Alec swim in the Olympics. We were resigned to the fact that we would have to watch Alec swim on TV . In fact we have never been able to afford to go and watch him swim in any of the international meets he has been in over the years. Out of the blue the kindest spirits in the world on Cortes Island, like Marcel and Frank, Annie and David, Bruce and Ginnie, and Bertha, and many many others came to help us fulfill a dream. We can never thank you all enough, and we will always remember your kind hearts. There were many of our friends in Campbell River, and in Victoria also we would like to thank. Alec has always maintained that Cortes Island is his home, and he is so proud to feel that he is representing not only Canada but Cortes Island also at the Olympics. After all, Hague Lake was his first training pool.
We are hoping to blog our trip which can be accessed from the Island Swimming website. Thank you to all of those who are supporting Alec and ourselves, we will be thinking of you all and never forget that it is you who made this trip possible. Betty-Ann, Brian, Finn and Alec.
