General News · 20th April 2012
In the last month, I and Cortes health professionals have been approached by people who are interested in addressing some of our community's more dark and difficult elements relating at least in part to drug and alcohol use and mental health issues. There is a place for formal RCMP channels, and there is a time for softer and more inclusive spaces.

I have been looking a bit into restorative justice and community circles as ways of moving through difficult conversations...

I am looking for allies who might be interested in taking training or supporting this healing work.

There are two trainings / workshops coming up very soon that come highly recommended if you, or anyone you know might be interested. I am considering attending and might be able to help with travel and accommodation costs...

The first is a conference next week 27-28 in Courtenay hosted by the Comox Valley Community Justice Centre - see attached.

The second is with Circle Training professional Kay Pranis on Bowen Island April 28th, and again a longer session at SFU April 30th to May 2nd. See attached.

In Gratitude,
Noba Anderson
