Consider helping the newts across the road or slow down if it is safe for you to do so.
They are incredibly slow moving and could use a hand at this time of year as they are migrating (crossing the road) from their forest home on one side, to their swamp home to lay their eggs.
Interesting fact: Newts are toxic to ingest. So in case you were thinking about it, do not eat the newts. Picking newts up to relocate them is fine.
