Request for Expressions of Interest – Forestry related work opportunities, Cortes Island
Island Timberlands is planning harvest operations on Cortes Island in 2012. We are interested in providing local residents the opportunity to work on our private timberlands. All individuals’ and companies employed by Island must meet our safety and environmental management standards prior to commencing work. In specific cases Island may assist in attaining the required training and certifications.
Work opportunities include but are not limited to: engineering, road maintenance, road building, all phases of harvest activities, firewood management, reforestation and stand tending.
If you are interested in working with us, please submit a word document via e-mail to environmentislandtimberlands.com referencing the following, as applicable:
• Work experience;
• Availability for work;
• Certifications in good standing, e.g. BC Forest Safety Council Faller Certification;
• Minimum of two references, and
• contact information.
