FOREST FEST WEEKEND March 2, 3, 4, 2012
This is an invitation to everyone to join in and celebrate Cortes forests
Here's the dynamite line-up of activities for the weekend of March 2, 3 & 4th.
There's something for everyone
A great opportunity to get into our local forests to explore, on the ground, the concepts of sensitive ecosystems and ecological communities at-risk… and the colour green!!!

*Friday, March 2; The Children's Forest
… a beautiful walk along the banks of James Creek to the estuary on Carrington Lagoon
1000 meet just off the Whaletown Bay Road at Johnny Smith Way sign, where we will carpool in to the trailhead
* Saturday, March 3; Basil Creek Watershed
… experience a remnant grove of old-growth forest in the upper reaches of the Basil Creek watershed
1000 meet at the upper yellow gate on the south side of the Squirrel Cove Road, heading west out of Squirrel Cove (just before the crest of the hill).
* Sunday, March 4; Delight Lake Watershed
… an exploration of one of the island's most ecologically significant watersheds
1000 meet at the Green Valley trailhead signage on the north side of the Squirrel Cove Road, mid way between Gorge Hill and Squirrel Cove.

has been POSTPONED until further notice
FOREST BENEFIT CONCERT
Chocolate martinis, cocktail oysters, gourmet finger foods, amazing music and dancing; this adult only event is a fundraiser in support of the Island Stance community action and legal defence fund. Manson's Hall; tickets $15.00 each or $25.00/couple.
