We live on a small forested island that is changing, surrounded by seas that are now slowly rising. Hmmm, what shall we do that makes good sense for the long run?
The attached essay is this woodworker's response to such a predicament, and I'm posting it because it seems quite relevant to the current discussion about planning the Cortes Community Forest. We cannot solve all the world's accumulating problems, but we can at least do our fair share at the local level to find a more sustainable path going forward.
