Cortes Island School
Due to Job Action (Teacher Strike), we are not permitted to host an evening concert. With this parameter in mind, it was decided to pare this celebration down considerably this year.
We have invited our students’ families to a potluck lunch at noon on Thursday, December 15th. After we share food, there will be opportunities to tour the classrooms and see some of the work the students have completed. With Job Action, teachers are not able to complete progress reports, so this is another chance to see what the kids are doing. Dayna will lead us in a short sing along and a few kids have independently prepared short ‘talent show’ type skits, songs and dances.
The Grade 10’s have been soliciting donations for a Silent Auction from our community.
If you are able to donate an item or expertise, please contact the school at 250.935.6313 or email at cortessd72.bc.ca. All proceeds will go directly to our students.
If you are interested in purchasing some Christmas gifts AND supporting our CIS students, please drop by all this week to peruse the Silent Auction items and place your bids. You will be notified on Friday, December 16th (at the latest) if you are the successful bidder.
Some items we have acquired so far are:
