The volunteers at Cortes Community Radio continue work at the studio and at the transmission site in preparation for Industry Canada testing. While they do, you can continue to listen to Cortes Community Radio streaming on line by following the link on cortesisland.com.
Many volunteers are putting in extra hours, and our service providers are going out of their way with their time and expertise to help us out as we meet the challenge of getting ready for the upcoming testing phase.
Over two years ago, the process to obtain a CRTC licence began. Today it is a reality. Since our application was approved, some unexpected costs have arisen depleting the financial reserves of the station. Things like having our transmitter certified, which cost a bit more than we expected, or having to change the orientation or our antenna on the tower. The station is requesting that donors and sponsors contribute so that the station will soon be back on the air reflecting the diverse community of Cortes Island.
We hope to be back broadcasting via the airwaves as soon as possible. Until then, tune in right here www.cortesisland.com
