Resilient Cortesians turned out en masse Sunday to celebrate a dry day (and, hopefully, the beginning of summer) after rain postponed the 53rd annual Smelt Bay event for a day. Thanks to all the volunteers who shifted gears to make the day happen and to all who came out to enjoy it. Here are some more pictures.
Chicken Poop Contest -- After 19 minutes and 24 seconds, the chicken made Jason Jeffery a winner by downloading on  his square.

Two members of the Coast Guard crew, which watched over the Nail-Sail-Bail contestants, also took on a land-based challenge with Bruce Ellingsen doing the timing.
