Come One, Come All!
This weekend is the 5th Annual Casual Cup.
With participants from far and near, and skill levels ranging from "How do you do this?" to "WOW!", it's part cardio workout and part social celebration. With forehands and backhands, and hammers, discuss throws and behind-the-back beauties, it's breathtaking and fast.
Thanks so much to the dedicated Ultimate crew from Cortes who not only keep the activity going all year long, but put on such a great event. Alanah, Wendy and Yoshi are making a burrito extravaganza for lunch, and Lisa Jo is making pizza for dinner. Ryan and Lovena are bringing tents and equipment. Greg, conehead and official scorekeeper, has been spreading the word, and now has confirmations in from all over the province, while Lexi is designing and revising ranking systems late into the evening.
There are so many others to thank, too many to name: musicians and grass cutters and folks just pitching in where help is needed. Also, our gratitude goes out to Garnette who let us use the cafe and the Kids Soscer who rescheduled their game this week to make way. While there are limits to how many we can feed, please feel free to join even if you don't intend to run and play. There will be some who come just for the food, and as long as we can squeeze another chair up, we will.
We hope to see you this weekend.
