Census forms from Statistics Canada are being distributed on Cortes. As noted in the "reasons why we ask the questions" on page 8, the cumulative data for a community is used to plan a variety of services. It is also important when we are lobbying our politicians regarding our ferry service, the condition of our roads, support for our school children, etc. It backs up our claims about the number of people affected and who we are demographically. It is also valuable when our various community organizations are applying for grants to support their programs. So---please fill out your form and send it in.
