Subject: Gorge Harbour OCP options as pertaining to Klahoose
Hello Beth, Russ and Felice
We spent the weekend here on Cortes with Felice and the Focus team generating draft policy input to the Cortes OCP. Out of one of these discussions came some very interesting ideas that I trust Felice will incorporate as appropriate into the draft OCP and into bylaw
recommendations. However, I would request that you find a time to speak very shortly as some of these very forward‐thinking ideas could perhaps be incorporated into the response to the Klahoose re‐zoning application in the Gorge Harbour. The ideas included: creating a DPA area Gorge wide, registering a covenant on the lease or re‐zone that requires local ownership
and/or operation as well as non‐transferability. This may need ot be done in conjunction with MAL.
Also putting a mandatory code of conduct attached to the zone.‐‐ This along perhaps with a noise bylaw... Felice was doing some out‐of‐the box thinking that would be well wroth a phone call to tap into.
Thanks for all you are doing for Cortes.
