To my beautiful Cortes community, a thousand thank-you's for the many expressions of generosity and love to me and Isla in our challenging transition to Vancouver.
It has been a life-altering experience to be part of this community for more than 5 years.
I will deeply miss seeing your faces at the library, where there is such an incredibly diverse array of life-long learners. It was my pleasure to serve you and to learn from everyone's interests.
I do apologize for not having a gathering before my departure. Letting go of my home and land has been the largest piece of grieving I ever experienced. This made it difficult for me to gather, as I needed a lot of alone time in my home in order to say a proper good-bye.
I hope to return to Cortes regularly, to keep mine and Isla's connections strong. Big part of our hearts will always be with the island and community.
Blessings and deep, deep gratitude for my times with all of you, the beautiful connections and learnings, and the very helpful generosity given to us to help us with our move. We love you Cortes!!!
