Many of you may have heard that the Watershed Sentinel
magazine is celebrating its 20th anniversary (yes, 20 !) and this weekend they will have a celebration party in Courtenay.
Other two groups, World Community and Georgia Strait Alliance are also 20 years old and are joining the party
In case you are not aware, the
Watershed Sentinel !!was born here in Cortes Island 20 years ago, when a large group of concerned citizens came together to protect the local forests.
Lead by Delores Broten
through all these years, the magazine has become the most credible, brave, and intelligent environmental publication in B.C.
Delores is an inspiration to many and we will never be able to thank her enough for her incredible work, courage, persistence, and passion through all these years.
For personal reason, Delores now lives in Comox.
If you want to send Delores a note, you can use this address: editorwatershedsentinel.ca
And if you want to attend the party, here are more details:
Saturday, October 16th, 2010, 7 PM
Location: Upper Native Sons Hall; Cliffe Ave, Courtenay
Featuring live music by local band Flying Debris, cash bar, silent auction, and DJ Bennie Renegade.
