How do we, as a community, harness our energy so that conflict becomes an opportunity for growth? Bring yourself and a friend for an evening of activities that invite us to engage in constructive community process.
In the last two open meetings, an intense desire was shared to carry the energy of Augusts’ Open Space gathering (regarding the funding of our community halls) into other issues that face Cortes. Community hall funding, medical clinic decisions, deaths in the community, aquaculture zoning discussions, the Official Community Plan process and alternative forestry practices are just a few of the many issues that necessitate community process and decision-making. The call is for people of differing opinions to move forward in trust and solidarity.
At this third open gathering, presenters will help us explore ways that we can express passionate opinions while maintaining respectful communication. How do we listen? How do we speak? How do we facilitate an environment in which intense diversity of opinion leads to fruitful discussion? How do we be the positive change we want to see? Please join us and be part of a fun and thought-provoking evening.
