Power of Hope
Another magical summer of Power of Hope camps has flown by on Cortes Island and we want to express our gratitude to all of you on the island for sharing such a beautiful space with us. As always, there was an immense amount of helping hands that contributed to making these camps such a wonderful experience and we'd like to say thank you, thank you and thank you to...
Ann Marie!, Nancy Silver and Christine for supporting the breakfast crew for 4 mornings! ... Steve Foskar for being an amazing breakfast cook for camp 2, Max our brilliant nature facilitator, Steve Remedios: lifeguard extraordinaire, Linnaea Farm Society, the wonderful Linnaea Garden program students who helped set up, hosted workshops, and shared space, Linnaea School (the teachers and students who cleared out the space so we can use the school), the neighbours of Gunflint Lake who endure our mass presence, the Cortes Co-op, Bertha, all the Cortes Youth who represented Cortes at the camps! ...Seth Brooks (a.k.a. "ChuckNorris Babysitter"), the local crew of POH volunteers: Sarah Downey, Mark Lumbar, Béene, Savage, Zoe Miles, Steve Remedios, Hollyhock, Sean (who did sound at the POH show), Annie Rousseau and Noella for helping out in the kitchen, Kirsten and Tamara (who rocked the kitchen everyday!), Adam and the farmers who picked our produce... Will, Annie, Melissa, Zoe, Sina....and anyone else whose name we forgot!
Thank you also to the generous individuals and organizations that donated to the successful POH SHO silent auction! We raised a total of $3,000 at the event to help support youth scholarships for camp!
