Sunday Sept 12, 7 to 9 pm
Tiber Bay Room, Linnaea School

A timely evening for proactive parents

While freedom of education remains a right, the increased price of such alternative education makes that right truly available only to a small segment of the population. Meanwhile the increasing trend in public education towards standardization is accompanied by concerns that industrializing education leads to an “assembly-line product”. As the breadth of opinion and information are narrowed, as students are encouraged more and more to conform to the existing governmental system, many people feel that the very roots of democracy – tolerance of a fundamental diversity in thought and perspective - is now threatened.

Come and hear about available alternatives!

Les Black has worked for four decades as an educator in Canada. With experience in both the public system and Waldorf schools, Les has a wealth of perspective on the current state of our schools. Over the years, he has witnessed repeatedly the heartbreak of a family’s finances limiting their educational choices. You are invited to come and hear his thoughtful solutions.
