General News · 23rd June 2010
Elinor Bazar, Krista Ma and Marnie Andrews will host the next Salon discussion on Friday 25 June 2010, 7 pm at upstairs at Manson’s Hall. Reclining and wining still encouraged.

Money is so domineering in today’s culture. And yet there rarely seems to be enough of it. Are there other ways to honor value or measure exchange? Come ponder the meaning of money and learn how other communities are using complementary currencies to enhance local trade and support a variety of noble causes.

Suggested listening/reading:
-Articles/links at
-Listen to Elinor's recent conversation with Michael Linton, Founder of LETS (Local Exchange Trading System) used in communities throughout the world.

Salons are for learning, exploring and exchange of new ideas with hopes of evolving our own views. Everyone who is interested in hearing what others have to say and in having their own ideas challenged is welcome.

Ground rules:
1.Each person should speak for a maximum of 3-5 minutes at a time to allow for input from others. Keep your comments clear and succinct.
2.Talk about your own ideas, not how others should think or where they are 'wrong'.
3.Participate with a questioning mind. Listen with respect and an ear to learn something new.
