Old SchoolHouse Art Gallery is pleased to announce its 2010 Season Calendar. This will be our 13th season !

For this year, public hours will be Friday nights from 6 to 9 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 6 pm.

We have scheduled 2 Open Group shows this year: Small Works: a local view and Portraits Tell Stories. All local artists are invited to start thinking to participate in them. Check the dates below.

Here is the calendar, the dates indicate the weekends (Friday to Sunday) for each show.

BETWEEN DARKNESS & LIGHT

July 2, 3, 4 and July 9, 10, 11. Solo Show with Christer Ekstrom. Colour is the world of the soul emerging as the twilight of darkness & light. We welcome Christer to the Gallery.

SMALL WORKS: A LOCAL VIEW

July 16, 17, 18 and July 23, 24, 25. Open Members Show. Island views…and points of view…in small perspective. The pieces may be two or three dimensional, on canvas, board, paper, ceramics. The technique may be acrylic, oil, watercolour, collage, print, photo, textile, whatever you want. The only restriction is that all works need to be small and with a local outlook.

THE CLAY SHOW

July 30, 31 and Aug 1. Group Show with Ester Strijbos, Diane Daly, Gary Fast, Larry Cohen, Pamela Boles. Five clay artists with distinctive styles come together for their third annual show.


STUDIO TOUR

Aug 7 and 8 only, 10am to 3pm each day. Please notice special hours. A stop on the Studio Tour, with five artists creating their personal studios in a shared space.

EARTH BOUND: FIVE PERSPECTIVES

Aug 13, 14, 15 and Aug 20, 21, 22. Group Show with Catherine Tableau, Volker Steigemann, Doug Weyler, Jodi Forster, Donna Naven.
Five unique artists working with different earthy materials, inspired by the spirit of the earth and memories, haunting echoes of owner ancestors…

STAYING AWAKE IN THE SPIRIT WORLD

Aug 27, 28, 29 and Sept 3, 4, 5. Solo Show with Kristen Scholfield-Sweet. Art made from the wisdom of direct experience, the subtlety of tension, and the discipline of perseverance.

PORTRAITS TELL STORIES

Sept 10, 11, 12 and Sept 17, 18, 19. Open Members Show. Weaving together stories creating portraits and portraits telling stories.
The pieces may be two or three dimensional, on canvas, board, paper, ceramics. The technique may be acrylic, oil, watercolour, collage, print, photo, textile, whatever you want.


We wish to extend an invitation to our local writers to participate in the Gallery, perhaps by having small readings during the Opening nights, or as an special event in any of the other days the Gallery is open.
