A Skill Sharing workshop entitled "Muddling Towards Frugality" will be presented by Whaletown resident Bruce Hipkin.
This illustrated workshop talks about the changes Bruce and his wife Judy made at home which, in less than two years, have achieved a two-thirds reduction in energy consumption.
The workshop concludes with a brain-storming session addressing the question of what else can be done that would allow us all to live more comfortably in a future of scarcer resources.
The Skill Sharing is not a new FOCI program, but a continuation of a similar project that Linnaea Farm Society and FOCI have been delivering for some time. There have been workshops for adults and children and due to great interest and success with children, Linnaea School has adopted a weekly "Farm Life" curriculum that brings these skills to the classroom. Tamara McPhail has been the leader for delivering this outstanding work.
"Muddling Towards Frugality" takes place at Mansons Hall on Saturday March 20th from 2:30 to 4:30. Admission is by donation.
