Short Notices & Workshops: CHILDREN’S FOREST WALK & NATURE STUDY DAYS – FISH! FISH! FIS
Calling all keen fish counters & spotters! A few chum were seen in James Creek last week, hopefully heralding the beginning of chum coming into spawn. Our November forest study day & walk will focus on stream walking and salmon checking, although there will very likely be a few intrepid swimmers in Carrington Lagoon!
Some youth will be bush-wacking through tangled & rugged terrain along James Creek, and looking for live or dead chum, or carcasses left after spawning & predation. RUBBER BOOTS and a STURDY WALKING STAFF would be a huge asset.
Bring a lunch, thermos of hot tea & raingear, and an extra dose of adventuring spirit and curiosity!
Parents, this is your chance to unload extra Halloween candy.
Children & adults welcome, but children 7 years and under will need an accompanying adult. Dogs on leash, please.
Departure at the Carrington Bay trailhead at 10:00 am, which will feel like 11:00 am., so do remember to move your clocks back.
