In case you are planning medical appointments or a trip off Island for Spring Break or Easter, I thought it might be helpful for people to know that BC Ferries will be closing the Q Cove Ferry Dock to work on the ramp and access April 6th to 10th inclusive. BC Ferries is currently putting together a plan for water taxi service to and from Quadra and how to handle commercial vehicles. When I spoke with Sarah Cotton, the BC Ferries spokesperson last week, she confirmed that the Cortes Ferry will still be running on its regular schedule and that BC Ferries will be sending out notices in the local media in early March with travel options. For more information you can contact Sarah Cotton directly. Phone, cell and email address can be found in last weeks Discovery Islander in Jim Abram's' regional director's report on the inside front page.
