February 5th & 6th Cowichan Valley will be hosting the Seeds for Change speakers series.
The weekend begins with a keynote address by Percy Schmeiser, the Saskatchewan farmer who stood up to corporate giant Monsanto. Come hear his story and learn more about farmer's rights and community resilience. Suggested donation for admission to this event is $10.
Join us the following day and discover ways for "Transforming Communities through Permaculture". Workshops and hands-on activities will provide tools and knowledge for creating positive change in your home and community. Admission to this event is $45, which includes a local food lunch. Reduced rates are available and those in need are encouraged to contact CGC. Children are welcome to participate in the day's events and are admitted free.

10:00 am – Workshop: “An Introduction to Permaculture”
11:30am – Tea & Snack Break
12:00 pm – Discussion Panel: Permaculture Q&A
1:00 pm – Local Food Lunch: vegetable curry, rice, salads, cake
2:00 pm – Workshop: “Reinventing the World: Permaculture in Our Community and Beyond”
3:30 pm – Gallery tour of projects created throughout day during children’s and hands-on activities
Ongoing (8:30am - 4:00pm) – Green Fair, Food Mapping Fair, Children’s & Hands-On Activities
All events will take place at the Duncan Christian Reform Church, located at 930 Trunk Rd, Duncan, BC.
