We awoke to a clear blue sky and knew it was the morning to visit the Ruins of Tulúm. On reading the internet we were told to visit it as early as possible to avoid the crowds. We were at the ticket gate at opening, 8:30 AM

It’s an extensive site, now well manicured. It was walled in with “turrets” at each corner as look-outs. Our gallery with the link below pictures three of these corners, one of them is a cap to a “cenote” or clear water hole. A sandy bay was its sea access for extensive trading.

The site is only partially restored and many of the lesser buildings are just outlines on the ground making this site seem expansive and open. After visiting the major structures, we sat near the rear wall with the lizards and enjoyed the view while the crowds with guides trickled in.

A site HERE gives a quick overview of Tulúm.
