In her Christmas message, Queen Elizabeth made clear her abdication of any position she may hold as a moral authority in the world. Granted she wouldn't be allowed to question the military behavior of any of the commonwealth countries or our allies but I am disappointed she was not able to acknowledge any casualties or suffering other than our own.
I like the idea of our political leaders giving us an end of the year message. Can you speak about Canada's role in the world today, especially with respect to peace and justice?

I don't think you can compare the Queen, a non-political figure, with John Duncan or any other MP. If MP's were to give an end of the year message it would be largely viewed as a political tooting of one's own horn. If one wants to know the plans or platforms of any MP one needs only to write to their constituency or visit their website.
