About 15 Cortes Islanders showed up at Mansons Lagoon on Dec 12th for the candle light vigil in support of the Copenhagen meetings. Ours was one of over 400 vigils across Canada and over 3,300 worldwide sending a message to the delegates that people on the ground want a strong agreement which limits CO2 emissions. We all expressed our reasons for coming to the vigil and hopes for the future.

I love this picture.

We ended up at a library forum in Vancouver on the day of support, no candles, no wilderness, lots of talk. And still so much desire among people there for our leaders to free us from the gloom and doom of "business as usual" so we can go forward on a path that more truly supports life for all creatures.
