Carol and Richard
We left Casa Azul at 9 AM. It looked like it was going to be a hot day, so we walked to the zoo at a slow tropical pace, 45 minutes for about 17 blocks, on the shady side of the streets. As a primo animal lover, I’m not crazy about zoos but this one was amazing, being 3 blocks long and two blocks wide. It was well stocked with animals from Central, and South America as well as a taste from India and Africa.

We saw three Hippos, the family very large and toothy. The big cats were very beautiful, -Jaguars, Black Panthers, Tigers, and Lions. Richard took the best pictures of these, - see the Gallery to this Special Section. Fabulous birds of bright colours and raucous songs.

We came home most of the way on a 6 peso bus and then plunged into our “Dunk” pool to cool off and refresh . Storm coming later, but so far a sunny HOT day. (Reminded us of New York in the Summer, hot and muggy.)
