Dianne's visit to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre on a Federation of Canadian Artists four day art retreat, produced a series of sketches and a love affair with rock fish. Rock fish are an amazing species that can live for more than eighty years and can make sounds. This sketch is of Dianne's favourite, the Copper Rock Fish, which settles into a favourite location (a station) and forages from there and returns to that "station", in this case making for a good sketch subject as the fish remained relatively still 'on station" in a large BMSC acquarium for long periods of time.
