Cortes Island Museum
Sat. & Sun., August 1 & 2 - 10 am to 5 pm - Cortes Artists will open their studios for the Cortes Museum's Studio Tour.
This new event gives local artists a chance to share their creative & vibrant work with you. Visit over 40 unique & talented artists in their studios, some in collective groups & many not generally open to the public. Delight your eye with woodwork, stoneware, porcelain, pottery, weaving, jewelry, solar etching, photography, watercolour, printmaking, stone & wood sculptures, collage, fibre & folk art, carved masks, mixed media, sculptures in bone, antler & gemstone - and much more!
Relax & enjoy refreshments at the Cortes Museum where more art will be on display & First Nations artists will be working on jewelry & traditional carving.
TICKETS are $12, including a map with studio descriptions -- AVAILABLE at Cortes stores, Trude's Cafe, Squirrel Cove Craft Shop, Museum & Manson's Friday Markets. For off-islanders tickets will also be sold 2 blocks up from the ferry at the corner of Seavista Rd. Aug. 1 & 2 until 10 am.
